Hello Dear Ones,
This week at my class “Art Direction for Fashion” at CSM, I was tasked to moldboard on myself. And this is what resulted.
I perceive everything best, when all of my senses are involved. The right image I created as I was magically inspired by @marcela_gtierrez, the artist that created the cover of the brand new cultural almanac Zac Posen also advertised on Instagram: called #theknow.
I really liked how the image looks like it was torn from magazines and then glued on a blank white page. It is edgy, it is interesting, it is lovable. And I am loving this idea of illustration. I posted it on my Instagram account @tath_me and, yay, the magazine and Marcela both liked it and commented on my images. How awesome this kind of creating, sharing and communicating is!
On the left side you see a collage of curated things that have personal meaning to me: The “Idea” is a wonderful painting from my favorite Californian contemporary artist, Ed Rusha. Haute Couture and aesthetics are my constant focus point – it happens naturally that I am drawn to it. The flower I photographed in a beautiful open zen garden in Malibu, the smell of it was unforgettable. Upon you see a delicate drink, that can be most fun on a night out. So much to discover zip by zip when mixed professionally. Auditive and visual stimulation is connected to my strongest senses. Coltrane allows you to think while listening. And Dirty Dancing impacted my life strongly, as I am a kid from the 80s.
What does your moldboard about yourself look like?
Would be nice to see.
